Bungay Cherry Tree Angling Club Annual General Meeting 2008

To be held at the Bungay Bowls Club on Friday the 25th of April 2008 at 7.30pm

This is a very important yearly meeting of the club in which new officers and committee members are voted in. Full reports from the clubs officers are read out and any alterations or changes to the clubs structure rules or amendments. It is very important that all club members make the effort to come to this yearly meeting as this is your main chance to have your vote on who is running  the club for you and any proposals that have been sent in if you do not attend this meeting then you will not be involved in the shaping of the club and its management so I urge you to make the effort and come along. There will be a bar for those of you that like a drink and copies of the clubs annual newsletter will be sent to all club member before the meeting takes place to insure you are kept up to date.

The Agenda for this years meeting is as follows...

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT THAT THIS CLUB GETS THE CLUB MARK STATUS? FOR ONE VERY GOOD REASON, YOU PAY YOUR FISHING LICENCE DON'T YOU? AND THAT MONEY GOES BACK TO THE ENVIRONMENT AGENCY. WELL THE EA HAVE STATED THAT THEY WILL PROMOTE ANGLING THROUGH RECOGNISED ANGLING BODIES AND...  Increasingly, local authorities and funding agencies are taking the decision only to support accredited clubs. By having the club mark we will be able to apply for that funding and develop or clubs assets, with out it we will not be supported we have nothing to lose and I urge all members to vote for it at the AGM.

I want to see the EA support angling in this region don't you? of course you do, well this is the way to go about it. By obtaining the Sports England club mark we are then working with those criteria that the EA have said they will support not just the EA but many other angling bodies as well and this will put us in a very favourable position to advance and develop our junior section apply for funding and promote the standards and structure of the club, all of which will only serve to put Bungay Cherry Tree Angling Club at the top. If you need more information on club mark please follow this link or email me at mark@bctac.co.uk

Tight lines Mark.
