Dunburgh Section on the Southern Broads.

Dunburgh

It is just past the village of Geldeston at Dunburgh in Suffolk close to Beccles and is a beautiful peaceful place to fish, we  know control the stretch from the bottom of the steep path round to your right all the way down to the boat house. Depth varies from 8 to 15 feet on this tidal stretch with good bags of bream, large pike, perch and roach, chub and carp all present. It is a very pretty part of the Southern Broads abounding in rich wild life and fauna and the ideal place to unwind and forget your troubles as you take in the scenery. I have fished it for many years as a youngster and it has always remained one of my favourite places so I hope you will enjoy fishing there and help the club to take care of it by being responsible anglers.

Please take note...

Bailiffs will patrol this stretch on a regular basis and will ask any one fishing there to produce there club card, day ticket or residents ticket, if you do not have one and are caught fishing you will be asked to leave and could face a fine if you do not have a national rod licence. All fish caught must be returned and there will be no camp fires or barbecues and picnics on this stretch. All letter must be taken home with you after fishing and any club member caught leaving litter and lighting fires will have there membership removed. It should be noted that there has been trouble on this stretch with foreign residents leaving rubbish, lighting fires, and killing fish, THIS WILL NOT BE TOLERATED BY THE CLUB and any one caught doing this will BE asked to leave the waters and banned from the club totally.

  •  Parking is restricted on this section so please read the parking section below so you do not get asked to move your car by the bailiffs.
  •  Boat owners should note, this stretch is private property and you are not allowed to moor along the bank unless you are a club member and are moored with the purpose of fishing.
  •  Resident tickets can be obtained from the club secretary : Call  07969641061 for details.

Please read all information on this page.

Map showing Parking area 1 access to river at gate and parking by the gate.

Note: Parking is restricted to only 2 cars at the gate. IF there are 2 cars parked here when you arrive please park in area 1at the meadow along the edge of the field I suggest dropping your tackle off then parking your car in area 1 to walk back to the gate entrance. IT  IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU OBEY THIS PARKING ARRANGEMENT IF YOU DO NOT YOU WILL BE ASKED TO MOVE YOUR CAR BY THE BAILIFFS,  so please help us by sticking to this arrangement.

It will also help us all if you spot any one killing fish or lighting fires by reporting it to the secretary whose number  and details are in your club cards.

Ok that's about all you need to know,  oh and yes you can night fish here but again, please take all litter home with you and park sensibly.

I am relying on all club members to act responsibly on this new water so please take care and enjoy your fishing.

Tight lines Mark, Club secretary.
