ELLINGHAM above and below the Mill! Come in off the New Yarmouth Road, after Broome Artichoke having crossed stream. Turn right at CROSSWAYS STORE if coming from Bungay. Keep bearing right all the time. Turning to get Church on your left. Below the Weir- What a place - our most prolific water starts here and abounds with fish as it takes the top of the tidal reach. No big boats. Wintertime fish move up towards the road. Nice chub under the Trees. We have four marshes here. About half way down bream of 5-6 lbs. are common. Dace have made a comeback here! Huge carp can be seen roaming! Not that deep and with a tidal rise and fall of about 24". Quickish and again weedy - but clear it and you are in within an hour! Upstream of the bridge is a different story. Slow and deep with bream the target if you can find them. For upstream above Mill opposite bank, parking go right after church on left, go up road 100 yards. Park. Then cross gate, under fence, down to river across marshes and dykes. You need wellies for the shallow Ford. After crossing this strike up left to blue bag tied on fence and Dyke Bridge.
New entrance at Ellingham There is now a new stile in place at Ellingham directly in front of the club sign will all anglers please use this and avoid going over the barbed wire. We offer our sincere thank to the farmer Brian Quantrill for putting this up for the club members to use.
