The Club runs an active Junior Section with some events
on the Card. It has a Child protection Policy and Health and Safety
Procedures for Club members.
A regular Freshwater match programme throughout the Season provides a
friendly competitive base with a match pool of £5 from which £1.50 goes
back to the Club.
Attendance averages 20 - 25
with some fine trophies donated for the matches held on both still and
running waters
To begin with there is12 miles of
fantastic river fishing from
Earsham upstream
at Waveney Farm, down to three Rivers and Dyke at Geldeston and on to
Dunburgh. Waters vary
between clear slow flowing crystal clear upper reaches and quick runs on
the tidal Ellingham reach. Shipmeadow is unique throughout
Broadland, as
being the only true tidal waters that does not have power craft cruisers on
them. Deep weedy runs produce an amazing range of species and some of this
is the stick float angler's dream and paradise. The pole penetrates weed
to hold in tiny gaps and whilst caster tends to rule the Waveney for
quality both bread and worms work wonders.
Falcon Meadow at Bungay is a
superb winter roach fishery.
Prime place is
our picturesque 3-acre lake at
Ditchingham with four Disabled platforms
and easy parking. Stocked with Roach, Rudd and Tench, the latter are
caught to 8 lbs. Carp run up to 32 lbs. with Barney Reeve taking three
near twenties in an early Spring session. Restocked with Crucians and 200
small carp in 2004. Chemically treated for weed in selected swims mainly
around the Islands in 2005.
We also have our newest water the by-pass pit recently
stocked with Tench Roach and Bream after stocking the swims are now being
worked on and trees cleared away to improve access. This water is open
during the close season and if you are full member you may fish it now.
Please see here
for details.
Due to our affiliation with Suffolk County Amalgamated
Angling Association all members may fish the common pond
and the surrounding two miles of the beautiful
River Waveney; and members can park in the Club Pit.
The common pond holds a good head of crucian carp and is ideal for a days
