Falcon Meadows resident cards update:

Please note, Ditchingham Residents wishing to fish the stretch at Falcon Meadows will have to join as full members next season starting 16th June 2010. This is because the "informal arrangement" with regard to Ditchingham Residents applied to Broome Pits and as we no longer have them this arrangement is now null and void.

Latest news from the EA

Anglers will soon have even more opportunities to enjoy the fantastic fishing available on the Norfolk Broads.

IF YOU CARE ABOUT THE FUTURE OF ANGLING JOIN THE ANGLING TRUST !

“More than ever before, angling needs representation at national level to continue the fight against pollution, inadequate legislation, illegal canoeing, poaching, predation and all the other threats facing angling today.” Angling needs to have a strong body to promote our unique sport, increase participation and ensure that the whole business flourishes. For only £20 per angler, this can easily be done, but we need every individual angler to join as a member themselves, as well as their clubs and sponsorship from all those who benefit from the £3billion angling business”. “Anyone can join the Trust today and ensure the sport is represented at a national and international level by completing an application form, visiting www.anglingtrust.net/join or calling 0844 7700616

Ian Gosling who served the club faithfully for many years as past secretary has been given a wonderful trophy of a hand carved fish from the owners of our Club pit. It was presented to him by Jonathan Cheyne in gratitude for the many years that Ian has served the club and is a testimony to the good relationship the club has had with the Cheyne family throughout the last 61 years.

Important update: The Kingfisher course has had to be moved forward to May/June this year as do to the high amount of people interested we need to employ more coaches to insure that we have the correct ratio of coaches to pupils. Although this is disappointing for those that were booked for September please remember that the course is hopefully still going to take place and that our coaches can take individual coaching sessions with you for the time being if you wish to book them with the club secretary.

Falcon Meadow platforms news

The old platforms at this stretch are now getting very worn out from constant use and there are plans to replace them as the club works with the Environment Agency to improve this stretch. We would ask that all of you would avoid using them for the present until we have replaced them for your own safety.
