Bob Blizzard Local MP for Waveney Suffolk joined us today to discuss the EA action to stop Bungay Cherry Tree AC Earsham AC and the managers of Marsh Trail Lakes opening there still waters during the close season.

Marsh Trail Management Team meet Bob Blizzard with Mark Casto (right) to explain their problem.

With the Environment Agency notifying Bungay Cherry Tree Ac; Earsham AC and Marsh Trail Lakes Commercial Fishery that they are covered by new interpretations of the Closed Season for their enclosed inland waters in the Broads Authority Area, from 14th March to 16th June outrage has risen amongst the 1000 anglers affected. Losing 25% of their income potential prompted the involvement of local Waveney MP Bob Blizzard on site at Marsh Trail with Mark Casto Secretary of the Bungay Cherry Tree AC. plus Dave Gladwell from the Earsham Club and the Marsh Trail Management team Richard Bird, David Ragan and John Walchester.

Up dated information...

After a successful meeting with the Environment Agency and the Broads Authority we are pleased to say that our lay-by pit will now be open during the close season while matters are resolved as will the other fisheries affected.

I would like to thank the Environment Agency and the Broads Authority for the cooperation with all those involved and for there support over this issue, it is good when we all work together for the good of angling and the environment.
