Many of our club members enjoy getting involved with the clubs activities by becoming a volunteer and there are lots of things for you to be involved in so lets take a closer look at what you could be doing as a club volunteer this year. National Fishing week
This major fishing event takes place in July every year when the club offers newcomers to the sport the chance to enjoy learning to fish with a qualified angling coach. The last two event we have run have been a great success with many youngsters taking part and learning how to improve there fishing skills. Its a big event and we are always in need of volunteers to help us run it. River and still waters maintenance work.
If getting out in the fresh air for a bit of tree felling or clearing weedy swims is more your thing then we have plenty of jobs through out the year were we need volunteers to help us keep our rivers and still waters in shape you could be clearing trees making fishing platforms going out in the boat or just enjoying having a lovely day out in the fresh air with a barbecue and getting to know the other club members. Junior Matches and learning to be an Angling Coach. Angling is a life long pleasure for most of us so why not pass that enjoyment on to the next generation and get involved with our Junior section of the club we can help you become an angling coach and fulfil your potential as well as offering you the chance to pass on your knowledge and skills to others. Our junior matches are great fun for the youngsters and we have strict policies and guidelines to insure the children are safe and taught by qualified staff. Don't let all that knowledge you have gained go to waste become a volunteer with our juniors and pass it on to the next generation of anglers.
Bailiffing our waters
If you have the right attitude and want to help us insure that our waters are looked after then this could be the role for you. We all ready have a team of bailiffs who can support you in your role but we are always on the look out for more as we have a great deal of river sections. This year we have a new procedure for all those who want to be volunteers. We have recruited the help of Lloyd and Sam who's role in the club as our volunteer organisers will insure that we help you to find the right sort of volunteer work. So now that you have seen some of the areas that you could be helping in the club your next step is to get in touch with Sam and Lloyd and have a word with them about what you would like to be doing. It would be helpful if you email Lloyd and Sam to let them have your details so we can add you to our volunteer list as well. We look forward to hearing from you and welcoming you to the volunteers.
